It's been a while...some updates!

So it's been a few months since I posted anything. In that time I've been hard at work trying to convert Maru Island into a 2D/3D hybrid in engines like Unity, UE, and Godot. Long story short, I'm moving back to 2D in GameMaker like originally planned. I've learned a lot in this time and I don't feel like it was time wasted, however - the experience gave me new ideas on how to approach some old problems. You'll be seeing a new version soon with some big improvements that should get gameplay much more in line with how I envisioned it in the first place.

That also means we're nearing the end of Alpha pre-development. There will be at least one, possibly several more demo releases of the current alpha, but soon the proof of concept will be at a point I'm happy with and it will be time to shift gears into building a team to develop a proper story demo, which will also be free. More details on what we're looking for and who we need will be coming in the near future, but if you think you might be interested in joining our team please let me know!
