Prototype #50 and big news
Prototype #50 is here and with it comes big news....this will be the final update to this version of Maru Island made using GameMaker. I'm restarting the project in Unity and making some fundamental changes, like moving to 2.5D instead of pure 2D. And this time around, I'm adding online multiplayer. Because it turns out that local multiplayer essentially means no multiplayer for a lot of people.
It will take me some time to recreate everything from the ground up in a new engine, and I appreciate your patience with me as I spend some time learning the Unity Editor and re-implementing old features. It will likely be a while before I have enough content assembled in the new engine to replace this demo, so expect prototype #50 to be the latest demo for some time.

Restarting the whole project from scratch in a new engine will take a ton of work, but I think it will pay off in tighter, more enjoyable gameplay. The current demo isn't quite what I wanted it to be - let's hope that the second time around I can get it right!
